Loren Stokes will be playing for the Orlando Magic's summer league team. Games begin next Monday. The Magic are hosting the 2007 Pepsi Pro Summer League from July 9-13. The 15-game event will feature Orlando, Charlotte, Chicago, Indiana, Miami and New Jersey.

The event is not open to the public. All games will be open only to the media and professional team/league personnel. Games will begin at 3 p.m. from July 9-12, and at 11 a.m. on July 13.

However you aren't completely shut out. A live video webcast of every game (as well as box scores and recaps) will be available.

Earlier this morning, UNCW announced their new athletics big cheesola.

Kelly Landry Mehrtens has been named Director of Athletics. The appointment of Mehrtens, currently Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Women's Administrator at the University of Kansas, begins her new post on Aug. 13.

Her biggest obstacle is likely the backlash following the UNCW administration's decision to pass over me for the job. Though I remain stunned by their choice of qualifications over a guy that just wants to live at the beach, I wish her the best of luck.
