I have a new favorite player...Jon Pease of Towson.
Pease took time out of his schedule and attended my luncheon speech yesterday. He got me to sign a book for him and one for his father. Pretty cool for him to do it and for Pat Kennedy to allow him to do it.
Though he did not score in the game, Pease was the difference in Towson's victory over The Dub yesterday evening.
As for the speech--nobody fell asleep and no tomatoes were thrown so I'll call it a success.

Speaking of The Dub, though the numbers were not as high as usual they still traveled well. Love those fans.

Benny Moss doesn't like anything. All coaches generally spend their time of the sideline dissatisfied, but I've noticed on more than one occasion that Moss is particularly salty. At one point one of his assistants handed him five $20 bills and Moss threw them back at the assistant noting that he only wanted a $100 bill.

After Nor'Easter dropped Delaware, teh tempertaure in the Coliseum dropped precipitously. I'm starting to think the Mathews home court advantage has nothing to do with hockey or ice under the floor. Somebody needs to get Bertovich to look into something sinister with those players.

Odd game that ended appropriately odd, that Ga State/Tribe matchup. No flow, and then when it got a flow, Ga State did everythnig ti could to choke it away, including a best shot scenario of a 30-foot heave at the buzzer.
Of course, swish.

Love Monte Ross and how his team plays. The Hens fell behind 50-27 but turned UP the intensity in a time where they had every reason to give up. I can't speak for his Xs and Os, but that guy is going about it the right way. From my perspective, he gets all the time he needs.

I've never seen such horrific free throw shooting. Just bad. Neither Mason nor JMU shot 50%. Here's the other thing...at least three Mason players lined up six inches behind the stripe, making it almost 16 feet for the freebie. Not sure I understand other than that is pure mental.

It didn't matter, but the scoreboard was off by one point for about three minutes during the Nor'easter/Delaware game.

Tommy Breaux is gonig to be very, very good.

Interesting to see Tom Pecora sitting ni the third row, all by himself, for teh Towson Dub game.

The entire VCU staff was scouting the Ga State/Tribe game. All of them. And they had just played Ga State six days earlier. Think they are locked in?

Everybody is talking about the potential of Sunday if the seeds hold today. If you can, you need to get there--I don't know if circus is the atmosphere, but you will note an intensity rarely seen.

Sorry it's quick, but I'm realizing that by not having the lapper my blog entries will be quick. I enjoy sleep and have to get down to the Coliseum.
